So Katie and I are back from Vancouver! Look at those pretty pictures!
Vancouver was a magnificent city, and a much needed break. I’m not going to bother going into any philosophizing this time, my friends. Today, I’m just going to show you a bunch of pictures, for your and my enjoyment.
These photos are from the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese park and garden in Vancouver! This beautifully cultivated space was a mere kilometer from where we were staying, and we made sure to visit in on our first full day in the city. While this was exceptional, Vancouver has parks everywhere, and the amount of greenery really stuck with us.
We played so many games, but to be honest, guys, we had so much fun we often didn’t bother to take photos! SHUX was an amazing convention and we were so lucky to be a part of it. We met some wonderful people and hope to continue those friendships in the years to come.
The game I’m most excited about, my friends, is the first one shown here. Katie and I had the opportunity to play a game from the Edible Games Cookbook! Us and a very friendly British gentleman each were given two creme tarts, each with a different filling. Based on those fillings, the gentleman was named the new Monarch, and Katie and I were given hidden roles, one a loyal subject, and one the assassin! Can you guess who was who? After trying to suss it out, the King switched his remaining tart with Katie…and was promptly poisoned! It was a delight, and the book has an additional 11 recipes, and games to go with it.
Go and pre-order it.
I have plenty more photos, but I hope you enjoyed these little highlights.
Until next time,
