Bleep Bloop Blog

Hey everybody! Aiden here. It’s been a while since my last update.

I’ve just finished the music for Lulach Beryl: Magical Intern episode 10! Very exciting. It took me a super long time to actually get around to it. It does mean that it should be posted within a week, barring another unfortunate deletion incident.

I have to be honest, I really don’t like doing the music part, but it’s necessary to have a decent story podcast. If this were just a topical podcast, it would be find to have an intro, outro, and standard transition piece, but for a show you have to match the tone of the music to the tone of the scene. Its really not something I feel cut out for. Thankfully, Katie is really good at that, and a tremendous help.

The other reason I suppose its been so long since I’ve last written anything has to do with a deal I made myself quite some time ago. You may recall that I said I would wait to play a certain video game – Persona 5 – until I finished writing season 1. Since I finished a couple of months ago, I’ve been playing this 90+ hour game during most of my free time. I’ll probably write at length about it once I actually do finish, to continue my themed posts about influences and what I consider important in telling a compelling story.

Going forward, though, I have high hopes for the rest of the season. Almost all of the remaining episodes have additional parts, far more than Katie and I can convincingly pull off. I won’t make any promises when you’ll be seeing episodes 11-20, but hopefully getting 10 done will put me back into something of a groove.

And avoiding any more JRPGs.

As always, thanks for sticking with us.
